Visit to New York: 2

NFT.NYC2023 had satellite events and I attended the ‘Web3 Collectors Salon’ held at Lume Studios, located at the downtown part of Broadway. Both a social and learning event, a panel included NFT “star” Kenny Schachter.

With Dominique Czerednikow aka MizzD: this was included in one of her Instagram Stories and I reposted it into an Instagram Story of my own.

It was organised by ARSNL and CADAF (Crypto and Digital Art Fair), and gave me an opportunity to meet CADAF’s leader Elena Zavelev. This was really nice because over a few years now CADAF has shown an interest in my work:selecting some of my artworks for three of their fairs and also one of my video art pieces for Digital Art Month Paris in 2022, which they had an important part in organising. Elena and CADAF are dedicated to promoting digital art and helping to develop the practices and interests of artists, audiences and collectors. Also at this event, I finally met up with the very talented digital artist Dominique Czerednikow aka MizzD. We have been in touch, through CADAF fairs and social media, for a number of years and are supportive towards each other’s work.

With Teresa Edwards: five times an Olympian!

The other satellite event I attended was the launch of an NFT collaboration between a legendary Olympian, Teresa Edwards, and the visual artist Gregg Emery (the event was organised by Etcheve).. Teresa’s achievements are amazing, having won one bronze and four gold Olympic medals as a member of the USA Basketball team.. She now works in Education and as a motivational speaker, and certainly has stories to tell and messages to give about dedication and determination. Her audio book Black Gold is successful on Amazon, and her work with Gregg Emery is adding another dimension to her activities. It was a pleasure and honour to meet a very special person.
